When you first get your skimmer one of the most important things you do is to make sure all the parts are in the package. Remember it is packaged by people and sometimes a part can be left out. It suck to get it in the tank and find out you are missing parts. The next thing to do is to wash the parts in clear water with no cleaning products in the water. This is to make sure no particulates are going in your tank. We don’t need unwanted stuff in our tanks. This is why we bought the skimmers in the first place. We are working on getting bad stuff out not to put bad things in.
